RULES

PLAYER REGISTRATION

  • All players must be 18 years of age or over and sign the team registration/indemnity form prior to taking the court at each game.
  • Teams may introduce new players throughout the rounds games of the competition.
  • Teams may borrow players from other teams to make a full team of 5 during round’s games ONLY IF the team can field enough of its own players to avoid a forfeit. A team may only use ONE substitute from another team AT ANY TIME during the game. Substitutes cannot be borrowed from a higher division of the competition, however it is possible for a higher-division player to make a permanent change to a lower-division team.
  • New players may NOT be introduced during semi-finals and/or finals.
  • To be eligible to participate in semi-finals and/or finals, each player must hove signed on and played at least one game for the team during the round’s games.
  • Players may play for only one team during semi-finals and/or finals.

COMPETITION POINTS

  • Win = 3 points
  • Draw = 2 points
  • Loss = 1 point
  • Forfeit = 0 points (opposing team will win 5 – 0)

SEMIS AND FINALS

  • Semis and final games will be scheduled for all teams; not just those in the Top Four. Please note competition structure may change according to number of teams in a league; some seasons may play two rounds of matches then straight to Finals.
  • If semis are played: 1st plays 4th, 2nd plays 3rd in semis. In finals winners of both matches play for 1st and 2nd position. Runners up play off for 3rd position.
  • To be eligible for semis and/or finals players must hove signed on and played during the round’s games for their team.
  • If the result is a draw in semis and/or finals play Golden Goal. 3 minutes each way. If the score is still drawn after this time there will be a penalty shoot out.

UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT

  • All team players should wear identical coloured tops (Numbers are not required). If opposing teams have same coloured tops, bibs are provided and a coin toss will decide who wears the bibs. Please note: due to health and safety concerns, team bibs will not be re-used, so please make every effort to ensure your full team is wearing a consistent colour.
  • A ball is provided at each venue for match use, and a warm up ball.
  • All players must wear shin pads for indoor soccer competitions (covered with socks). Shin pods are also highly recommended for outdoor competitions.
  • No watches are to be worn. Other jewellery to be removed at the request of duty managers / referees.
  • Prescription glasses only to be worn, but must be fitted with plastic lenses or covered with sports goggles; contact lenses are preferable if possible.
  • Blades and moulded soccer boots are not permitted at Domain playing fields.
  • No black soled shoes for the indoor competitions.
  • EYEGLASSES: Please note that only approved sports glasses/goggles may be worn for indoor competitions. Contact lenses are strongly recommended.

TIME FORMAT

  • EVENING COMPETITIONS (indoor): Game duration 35 minutes.
  • LUNCHTIME COMPETITIONS (OUTDOOR): Game duration 30 minutes.

FORFEITS

  • (5 a side) If a team cannot field 4 or more players within 5 minutes of the scheduled game start time then the team will forfeit. A friendly game may continue, with the result shown as a 5-0 forfeit win to the non offending team.
  • If you know in advance that your team has to forfeit a game please phone Intrinsic Sports on 8920 8878 as early as possible no that we can inform the other team.

ABANDONED MATCHES

  • If a match is abandoned prior to half-time (due to rain or safety issues with the field of play), the match will be rescheduled for play later in the season.
  • If a match is abandoned after half-time (due to min or safety issues with the field of play). the match will be deemed to have been played and the score at the time of abandonment will stand.

Substitution/Interchange

  • Players may substitute/interchange at any time during the match providing it does not interfere with play. There is no limit to the number of substitutions that can be made and the referee does not need to be informed.

RED / YELLOW CARDS

  • REFEREES WILL CARRY RED / YELLOW CARDS: At the discretion of the referee, and depending on the infringement, a red card will carry a one-match suspension.
  • FUTSAL competitions: As per FIFA rules, if a player has been red-carded. he/she may not re-enter the play, however after 2 minutes (or if a goal is scored prior to 2 minutes), a substitute player may take to the court in the red-carded player’s place. However, this substitute player must be a member of the red-carded player’s regular team (not a player borrowed from another team).

INTERRUPTION TO SEASON

  • Should a venue be unavailable for any reason beyond Intrinsic Sport’s control the season will be temporarily paused and will resume once the venue is available again.

Players will abide by the referee’s decision at all times.

FUTSAL:

RULES FOR BROADWAY AND SYDNEY BOYS HIGH

GENERAL RULES:

  • Teams will be 5-a-side.
  • All kick-ins, goal clearances, corner kicks and free kicks have a four second time limit
  • Slide tackles are illegal and will result in a direct free kick to the non offending team
  • If a goalkeeper saves the ball he/she may move outside of the penalty area whilst the ball is at his/her feet and they have a four second time limit in possession of the ball(af ter passing halfway line, no time limit)
  • The GK must release the ball within 4 seconds either whilst handling the ball or whilst the ball is at their feet.
  • GK can not play a one-two with a teammate unless it is from a kick in from the side
  • If a goalkeeper saves the ball he/she may either kick, punt or throw the ball out of the area(if they wish to play the ball out themselves they may but he/she must either release the ball or cross halfway within four seconds)
  • All fouls are punished by either a indirect free kick or a direct free kick (yellow and red cards will be produced at referees discretion)
  • The goalkeeper may not pick up a ball directly passed to him/her by a teammate (otherwise an indirect free kick will be awarded to the non offending team)
  • The ball cannot be played by a player whilst he/she is on the ground
  • If the ball hits the roof it is an indirect free kick to the non offending team
  • If the ball comes into contact with the basketball rings it is a goal clearance
  • No player can touch the ball with their hands whilst the boll is in play except the goalkeeper in their penalty area. An accidental handball will result in an indirect free kick and a deliberate handball will result in a direct free kick to the non offending team.
  • For the 6th and subsequent team fouls in each half of o match, a 10m penalty will be awarded.

SUBSTITUTIONS:

  • Unlimited interchange is allowed
  • Substitutions must be made in the team’s defensive half. approximately 5 metres from the half way line. The substitute may not enter the court until the player they are replacing has left the court.
  • The goalkeeper may be changed by way of a flying substitution (sub with a bench player only). Time is not stopped and the referee must be notified of the change.

A KICKOFF IS A WAY OF STARTING OR RESTARTING PLAY:

  • All players shall be in their own half of the field
  • The opponents of the team taking the kick off must be at least 5 metres from the ball until it has been played(otherwise the kick will be retaken)
  • The ball shall be stationery on the centre marking
  • The ball shall be deemed in play once it has been kicked and moves forward
  • The kicker may not touch the ball for a second time before it has been touched Players will abide by the referee’s decision at all times.
